Security Steel Doors
Thorne Security manufacture, supply and install a large selection of single and double steel door sets. Ranging from our Georgian paneled door, fire resistant doors with up to a one hour fire rating, anti vandal security doors for use in high risk areas, up to bullet resistant. All of our door sets are manufactured to suit varied structural openings.
We can also see through a complete project from initial discussions, site survey, detailed specification to installation. A wide range of locking options are available for the doors, including multi point, panic and emergency escape devices, all these options can be found in our Architectural Ironmongery section. Vision panels and ventilation louvres can also be built in. The standard finish on our steel door range is a high quality paint to any RAL or BS reference.
This door is designed for Commercial/Industrial buildings requiring fire resistance and security from vandal/burglar attack. The 35LE FRD door is a 44mm thick Pyrophobic infill metal fire-resisting door and frame set (with varying levels of resistance), tested in accordance with BSEN1634 & BS476. It has a laser welded edge bonded to the inner and outer Zintec skins of 1.6mm thickness.
This door is designed for Commercial/Industrial buildings and gives security against vandal/burglar attack and is ideal for areas subject to break-in and vandalism using basic hand tools. The inner and outer skins are 1.5mm thickness. For optimum security there is a folded astragal guard on outward opening doors.
This door is designed for Residential entrances in areas where there is a high risk of break-in/vandalism
This door is ideal for high security requirements, including Banks, Building Societys and ATM type buildings etc,.
It has been tested by the Force Armoury, Police Headquarters in the West of England against, 9mm full metal jacket,
Glock 17 Pistol, 9mm jacketed soft point Glock M17 SL,
GP 100 Revolver, 375 Magnum, 22 Revolver and a Remington
870 Pump Action Shotgun.
The Firesonic door is made in a similar design to the 15LE door. Special Firesonic core provides the design acoustical performance for up to 45db. Galvanized for external for external or internal use, ideal for music rooms, quiet areas, meeting rooms etc.
The Liberty door is designed for internal and external use in Commercial/Industrial buildings where there is an increased environmental risk, or where there is a security risk for contents and planned attack.
Door Frames
Standard steel frames are available knocked-down or welded and ground smooth. Profiles and anchors to fit any wall condition. Embossed 3-hour label standard. Variety of Hardware Preparations available. (Standard is a 4 1/2" hinge (standard or heavyweight) preparation and 4 7/8" strike.)
